For me, Carter feels like a Hardcore Henry re-mix, with a Korean flavour.

This is run and gun, beat em, cut em up, style of film, with a video game vibe. It worked with Hardcore Henry but somehow this one just doesn’t quite pull it off.

I think part of the reason for that is unlike Hardcore Henry, its not quite as well paced or polished. Its back story is a bit thin too, not really adding much to the proposition. The result feels somewhat aimless and a little bland.

In short, moderately watchable but fizzles when it needs to burn.

Gratuitous hyper violence eye candy!

Carter (2022) is like a Korean version of Hardcore Henry. And pretty insane one!
The entire film is shot and made in a way that makes it look like a one-shot long take. But you can notice that there were lots of cuts because there are like 85% of the actions that were pretty insane, so that would be extremely impossible to shoot one long take lol.

It was Hardcore Henry type movie that had more actions, only the editing was kinda poorly done. Lots of cheap green screens and CGI, but doesn’t bother me anyway. The actions sequences were actually pretty insane and impressive, IMO. The camerawork is kinda cool, but some people might find it annoying.

Would have been one of the best action films if it was shot in 4-6 long takes without green screens, for sure. Overall, I liked it, it’s quite unique. Except Hardcore Henry, I’ve never seen any movies like this one.

Absolutely outstanding action let down by mediocre plotting and acting
If you’re an action film fan watch this. The action is superb and I mean it. Very long sequences done as single shot action and its superb, violent and bonkers at the same time. Some of the camera movements are off the chart.

However, the film is let down by some dodgy acting, a bit of cheap cgi, way overlong in the ‘dramatic plot’ bits and ,strangely, some dodgy camera work in them.

Shot as a ‘one take’ movie but the director just gave up in the drama segments not even hiding the ‘cuts’ and saved his budget for the action. And what action it is!

Grab a beer or two and watch it for the truly sublime and, yes, bonkers action.

I hope action fans discover this and ignore the seriously low rating.
