Flawed but Overlooked
This film combines the nostalgia of drive-in cheesefests with the tried and true slasher formula. Flawed but certainly holds up against more popular entries of the time.

This is an underrated horror gem that is an absolute must see
Popcorn (1991) is a movie I recently watched on Shudder. The storyline follows a group of film making students who think a good finds raiser would be a horror movie marathon at an old abandoned movie theatre. It is a good idea until a serial killer that is his own master of disguise joins the party…

This movie is directed by Mark Herrier in his directorial debut and stars Jill Schoelen (Cutting Class), Tom Villard (One Crazy Summer), Dee Wallace (Cujo), Derek Rydall (Death Wish 4) and Ray Walston (Fast Times at Ridgemont High).

This movie is really awesome and one of those films you wish you were in. The characters are entertaining and the cast is better than you’d expect. The kill scenes are also very good and there is a kiss scene in this that’s top notch. The mosquito movie the audience watched looked great (which is why I wish I was in the movie). The ending reveal was excellent as was everything that happened after it.

Overall this is an underrated horror gem that is an absolute must see. I would score this an 8/10 and strongly recommend it.
