A cute beagle becomes the rhyme speaking wonder, Underdog.
I enjoyed this movie about a superhero beagle in a sweater. It has its share of problems. There are parts of the story that aren’t exactly clear and some of the humor isn’t very funny, but when it works, it’s very enjoyable, and it ends on a strong 3rd act, featuring some cool flying German shepherd dogs. Jason Lee is great as the voice of Underdog/Shoeshine, who is of course the most lovable character in the film. It’s hard to fault anyone for making a film about such a cute pooch. It’s not “cool” like those other superhero films, but it certainly fills a niche. The CG is at times pretty amazing. The talking, flying, super-heroing dogs are about as believable as their going to get. And on a whole,the film is pretty watchable. In fact, I was bored and ended up watching it 3 times.
