Tense but increasingly silly
It’s a decent enough set-up and reasonably well acted, but when the big twists came they were pretty ridiculous really.

It’s the usual BBC PC affair of course. Would they make a drama where some guys take an unpopular woman boss into the woods, take her trousers down and photograph her as a “prank” and then make the people who did that the sympathetic heart of the story? I think not.

And are we expected to feel sorry for the murderer and accept that he/she had no choice and that it was all OK because the victim was a nasty piece of work?

Ultimately you’re left thinking “all they had to do was to admit what happened and they’d have been fine”.

Worth a watch but not amazing.

This is the new dumb BBC.
Once upon a time, when you wanted to see some intelligent TV, BBC in UK and HBO in USA were places you could turn to without a second thought. While HBO still manages to surprise You with its quality programming, BBC of today is but a pale shadow of its glorious past. Take a stupid murder plot in a sleepy town, pepper it with 2-3 same sex relationships, pepper it with 2-3 inter racial couples, pepper it with dumb co-incidences and incoherent story lines..and voila a left liberal ‘mystery’ is ready. This is the 21st century! No one has anything against same sex relationships. But must they be in your face in a show about murder, in a show about modern warfare, in a show about mystery on a submarine? I mean whats wrong with the people who run these organizations? What happened to basic premise of making a good old high quality murder mystery, bereft of the left liberal agenda of the makers? I am not British. And I am not a bigot. I believe in the philosophy of ‘to each his own’. But this particular ‘murder mystery’ was another stark reminder of the agenda driven, dumb and shoddy third class film making that the world is coming to, specially BBC. By the way, there was no plot in this, the so called ‘mystery’ was ‘resolved’ out of nowhere, illogically as if the people watching are from kindergarten. If this is what film making is coming to, I shudder to think what kind of morons will be making the TV shows in near future.
