Another Remake of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”
The original “Invasion” was made during the 1950s Red Scare. It was an allegory of how the Communists were taking over the United States.

The first remake completely ignored that view, instead replacing it with unnamed aliens from space. Better than the original, but still predictable.

This time around, the film was well-produced, but it’s still a remake. The problem with being 70 years old, as I am, is having the originals to compare with the remakes.

If you’ve not seen the originals, I think you’ll enjoy this newest version entertaining, especially since It doesn’t give us any idea of who or what was behind this latest invasion.

Invasion of the Plot Snatchers
The aliens’ plan was fiendishly clever, to gradually assimilate all movie plots and replace them with identical clones. There was only one flaw. They couldn’t write and they couldn’t act. The replaced plots provoked only laughter and derision among humans and the invasion was an abysmal failure. Back to their planet skulked the aliens in abject humiliation. Making movies was tougher than they had realized.
