Powerful
This one completely slipped under my radar. Took a few days to really sink in. It’s a very unconventional and unpredictable film that really sneaks up on you. Took me a while to process it – it’s a pretty layered and has an ending that really stays with you. For a small film, it’s beautifully realised. Jerome Pride is outstanding, and Chris Bunton smashes any and every stereotype you can think of as the main character Danny.

Sublime
A sublime little piece of Australian cinema. Apparently this was made on a shoestring budget, but there is so much heart and soul here that it’s easy to overlook some of the flaws. Slowly draws you in and builds to an emotionally charged finale that stands as one of the more bold endings to a film that I’ve seen.
